5th August 2004 ScreenFX secures Samsung campaign to deliver "Live Action" commercials in UK Shopping Malls

ScreenFX, the dynamic new digital screen company, has secured Samsung as the first brand in the UK to commit a major advertising campaign following a successful trial throughout June and July.

ScreenFX's initial roll-out phase has seen 125 screens unveiled at 8 of Capital Shopping Centres' 'SuperMalls', reaching over 6 million consumers every 2 weeks. Malls include Lakeside in Essex, the Victoria Centre in Nottingham and The MetroCentre in Gateshead.

Samsung has become early adopters of the new digital outdoor medium, as part of their launch campaign for its new Samsung E800 mobile phone, underlining its potential for reaching audiences in busy mobile retail environments.

Commenting on the decision, Samsung's Head of Marketing Communications, Eamon Collins said, "ScreenFX offers Samsung a great way to reinforce a branding and tactical message in an environment where there are a significant number of our partner mobile phone retailers. We're impressed by the clarity and sheer impact of the giant screens and the potential to influence shoppers so close to the point of purchase".

At over five feet in width, which is approaching the size of a traditional 6-sheet turned on its side, the screens are the largest plasma screens available in the market today.Sales Director, Billy Howard, commented, "ScreenFX is a new medium for advertisers which reinforces brand image and positioning right at the threshold of the nation's favourite shops. 'Live Action' in out of home environments is the logical extension for campaigns that choose TV as their lead medium. In a number of compelling ways we are offering the fulfillment of TV based advertising.

He continued, "This is the most exciting thing to happen for some time in the 'out of home' media world and we are marketing the opportunity to clients as a powerful new addition to their overall advertising mix."

ScreenFX has had a number of approaches from significant players in the commercial property sector and is in advanced talks with them to find ways of providing tailor made solutions that assist and entertain shoppers, give a valuable service for mall owners and provide an even bigger audience for advertisers.
